LeBlond scored twice in the 4th and 5th innings to beat Chillicothe
in the Conference opener. Hornets' coach Dave Maple said weak
hitting and a defense that let their guard down hurt a good pitching
performance from Blake Stephens.
"The damage took place in the bottom of the
fourth innings with three errors that plated a pair of runs, all
after two outs" stated Coach Mapel. "Blake showed us once again that
he is prime for a good season. He had good command of his pitches
with a good fast ball and a nice curve." Maple said he needs to find
the guys who want to step it up and improve on their defense. "We've
got to make plays!" proclaimed Maple.
