It took
Kearney nearly three minutes to get rolling, but after that
there was no stopping them. The Bulldogs went on to beat
Chillicothe
70-25 in the opening round of the Cameron Tournament.
Kearneys
starting five stood between 63 and 69.
Chillicothe
Hornets coach Matt Brownsberger said not only were they tall,
they were also very good outside shooters, going
8 of
13 from three point range in the game.
The Hornets were down by 13 after one quarter and made
a trey at the start of the second quarter to pull to with in
ten. Kearney then rattled off a 20-0 run in the next three
minutes. The lead was 24 at the half and Kearney led by 40 or
more almost the entire fourth quarter. Coach Brownsberger said
he was proud of the fact that his team never quit during the
game, including still taking charges late in the game and
hustling to get the ball in bounds and getting one final shot
off at the buzzer.
Kearney
had four players in double figures led by Alex Klonowski who
went 5 of 8 from behind the arc and finished with 19 points.
67 Grant Cozad and 69 Dillon Starzl both had 11 points in
four quarters of play. |
