Moberly's returning All-State player Brennen Hughes had 17
points in the 4th quarter to secure a 62-47 Moberly win at
Chillicothe. The Hornets were back and forth with Moberly in
the first half, trailing by just one point 22-21 at
intermission. Moberly went on a 7-0 run to start the 3rd
quarter and Chillicothe never led again. A 9-0 run in the late
third and early fourth by Moberly secured the win.
Hughes finished with 31 points including 3 slam dunks.
He was held to just 10 points in the first half. Chillicothe
was paced by Senior Bryce Young with 29 points including 13 in
the 4th quarter. Chillicothe struggled at times matching up
offensively with Moberly's tall defenders in the paint, with
the Spartans blocking several shots during the contest. The 15
point margin of victory was the biggest of the game. Moberly
shot 7 of 10 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter
Chillicothe hosts Macon on Friday night.
