Excelsior
Springs put together a 9-0 run early in the fourth quarter to
take a 9 point lead and held on for the win. Chillicothe
trailed by three heading into the fourth quarter before
nailing a trey to tie the game. Excelsior Springs hit back to
back buckets, then sunk a trey to start pulling away in the
game.
Chillicothe was down by one after the first quarter but
went up by six midway through the second quarter. The Lady
Tigers closed to a two point game at half. The two teams
traded baskets most of the third quarter. Excelsior Springs
switched to a two-three zone defense in the second half
Chillicothe coach Karen Jackson says hurt the lady Hornets
offense. She stated her team did well on the board including
several offensive board, but shot a dismal 22% from the field.
