- Savannah 55, at Chillicothe 33
It was a tale of two halves for the Chillicothe Lady Hornets
as they saw a first half lead dwindle and ended up losing to
undefeated Savannah 55-33. Savannah scored the first bucket of
the game but Chillicothe responded with consecutive baskets. A
Savannah trey at the end of the 1st quarter made it a tied
ball game.
The lady Hornets opened up the second quarter on a 6-0 run for
their biggest lead of the game. After leading the entire
second quarter, the officials called a foul on an offensive
rebound on Chillicothe with three seconds left. Savannah hit
both ends of a 1-1 to close the gap to one point at half and
take the momentum into the locker room.
In the
second half, Chillicothe turned cold, missing several low post
shots. They went eleven and a half minutes between field
goals, as part of a 21-1 Savannah run in the last half the
third and most of the fourth quarter. Savannah outscored
Chillicothe 33 to 10 in the second half.
Savannah improved to 6-0 while Chillicothe fell to 1-3 and
will travel to Lafayette on Thursday.
