Chillicothe
used a highly effective full court press to force turnovers
and slowly build a lead through out the game. Chillicothe led
by seven early in the third quarter before Lexington scored
back to back buckets. Chillicothe then went on a 13-0 run to
lead by 16 by the end of the third quarter.
Chillicothe's Leanne Mathew guided the Chillicothe
scoring effort with 14 of the team's 23 points in the first
half. She finished with a season high 22 points in the game.
Other teammates picked up the scoring in the second half for
Chillicothe which failed to hit a three point bucket all
night. The Lady Hornets were hot from the free throw line,
shooting 14 of 21 in the game.
Lexington's 5'10" Jennie Ritchie hit two of her first
three treys in the first quarter but failed to score the rest
of the night. The Minutewomen were led by Ashley Swafford with
10 points.
