Chillicothe's Senior Point Guard Nic Voorhies fired a trey from the
right wing at the buzzer, but watched it bounce off the rim no good
and the Hornets fell to 0-2 with a 44-42 loss to LeBlond in the
Savannah Tournament.
For the second straight game, Chillicothe started
out slow, down 12-4 after one and down by 10 early in the 2nd
quarter, but slowly came back to take a 1 point lead at the
halftime.
LeBlond turned up the heat in the third, leading
by as many as 9 points, but Chillicothe stormed back, tying the game
in the middle of the fourth quarter. The Golden Eagles hit four free
throws before Voorhies hit a trey with 1:46 left in the game to cut
the lead to one. A LeBlond Free Throw with 8 seconds left made it a
2 point game again. After time outs by Chillicothe, then LeBlond,
Voorhies trey at the buzzer was no good.
