East Buchanan's
Cory Bower and Brandon McNeely combined for 49 points to help beat
Chillicothe 59-57 in the opening game of the St Joseph LeBlond
Holiday Tournament.
East Buchanan led by single digits most of the game,
using smooth inside play and tough defense to keep Chillicothe at
bay. The Hornets took their first lead of the game with 4:27 left in
the fourth quarter. There would be four tie ups and several lead
changes the rest of the game.
Chillicothe hit a bucket to close the game to one with
30 seconds left, but East Buchanan hit one of two free throws to
lead by two with 14 seconds left.
After a time out, Chillicothe ran their play with
9 seconds left, but this time Senior Nic Voorhies' one handed jumper
from the free throw line rimmed out at the buzzer.
