St Joseph LeBlond used a 1-3-1 defense and a patient offense to dispose of Chillicothe 51-30 in the conference opener in St Joseph.
     Chillicothe led by two going into the second quarter, but fell on hard times, being outscored 17-4 in the quarter. LeBlond's Jacob Madden and Grant Gillaspie teamed up for 15 of their team's 17 points in the second quarter.
     The Hornets point guard Nic Voorhies started the third quarter with three straight treys to close the gap to four points, but that's as close as the team would get, trailing by 10 heading into the fourth quarter.
     Chillicothe had trouble on the low post on both ends of the court, unable to stop LeBlond from patiently running their offense until a shot opened up inside, and also having trouble getting good looks at the basket on offense due to LeBlond's 1-3-1- zone defense.
