A nearly flawless pitching performance that
held Chillicothe to just one hit helped Centralia to a 2-0 win over
Chillicothe in the Class 3 Championship Softball game.
The Centralia Pitcher struck out ten, allowed no hits,
no walks and the only one to reach base was Sarah Baldwin who
reached on an official error with two out in the top of the 7th
The Lady Hornets had two small mistakes in the bottom
of the third that allowed the two Centralia runs to score.
Centralia’s number 9 hitter reached on a single. The shot to the
outfield took a bad bounce that allowed her to gain two additional
bases on a fielding error. Centralia then had a walk and a steal,
then picked up another single that scored one run. A passed ball
then brought the second run home for the only scoring on the day.
Baldwin allowed 2 runs off 4 hits, all singles, with 2
walks and 5 strike outs.
The Centralia 2-0 win marked the second time this
season they beat the Lady Hornets.
