The most successful Chillicothe High School sports team in more than
a dozen years was honored last night at the Lady Hornets softball
banquet. Coach Stan Baldwin honored his team that took 2nd place in
the Class 3 state Girls Softball tournament.
Baldwin cut back on the number of awards, stating this year was
strictly a team effort. The Hustle Award was presented to Brooke
Thomas and the Coaches Award was presented to Brooke Doss and Annie
Turbyfill, but he did not present any “statistical awards” this
year.
The team will lose six seniors off the squad, who went
92 -19 in their four years of softball.
Junior Varsity coach Mike Jones presented three awards to his 12-5
JV team. The 10th Man Award went to Haelee Shady; the Star of
Tomorrow award was shared by Brooke Nelson and Lauren Jones and the
JV Coaches Award went to Nikki Hague and Crysten Lollar.
Several members of the Lady Hornets softball team earned post season

Baldwin and Samantha Baldwin, named to the 2nd team were Annie
Turbyfill, Maura Sturguess, Addie Stottlemyre and Erin Gilliland and
