Hornets Soccer Seniors and their Parents

It wasn't heroic, it wasn't dramatic, it was simply Hornets Soccer at it's finest. On a night dedicated to the Seniors, the class that put Hornets Soccer on the map put on a clinic at the expense of the Cameron Dragons, winning 9-0. Brice Griffin scored a hat trick and Brandon Murray had two goals, but in the end it was the talent of a group of athletes that know how to play together as an unselfish team that was the highlight of the night.
Jimmy Chapman started the scoring early, finding the net in the 5th minute off an assist by Jeremiah Applebury. Brandon Murray went to work next, scoring two goals in just over a minute off feeds from Alan Kline in the 12th minute and Grant Peterson in the 13th minute.
Brice Griffin scored the first of his three goals in the 15th minute off a feed from Jon Kline and Wade Dietz finished off the first half with a goal off a Griffin assist in the 38th minute to lead 5-0.
Griffin equaled Murray's skill, scoring two goals in just over a minute in the second half off an Alan Kline assist in the 50th minute and scoring again in the 51st minute to give the Hornets a 7-0 lead. As the game progressed, Coach Tim Cunningham cleared the bench to the roar of an approving crowd. Cody Munson scored in the 73rd minute off a Ulises  Rojas assist and Grant Peterson finished off the scoring off a Chase Reeter assist in the 78th minute.
Troy Toedebush defended the goal like a shield, picking up three saves in the game.
Chillicothe is now 16-3 and finishes 5-2 in the MEC, good for 3rd place, their highest finish in school history.
