The Chillicothe Hornets rolled up an impressive, and
possibly record breaking, victory by winning the Benton-Savannah
Boys Tennis Tournament. Chillicothe won the team title plus had
individual champions in both singles and all three doubles
categories which is believed to be a first for the Hornets
Chillicothe beat Benton 5-0 in the first round, beat
LeBlond 5-0 in the semifinals and beat Lafayette 5-1 in the
championship. LeBlond beat Savannah 3-2 for 3rd, Trenton over
Cameron 3-2 for 5th and Benton over Maryville 3-2 for 7th place.
Coach Aaron Douglas stated he was "very pleased with
how grant dominated the singles competition, he showed that our
#2-#4 guys could easily play #1 for any of our neighboring teams. We
won gold in every category and won the tournament as a team."
