The Chillicothe Boys tennis team chalked up yet another
shut out victory, this time winning at Savannah 9-0. Hornets coach
Aaron Douglas likes what he has seen from his team, saying they
continue to improve as the season progresses. He stated while the
singles games have always been strong, he is now seeing the doubles
team playing well together.
In singles matches:
Wade Dietz won 8-3
Grant Peterson won 8-2
Chase Reeter won 8-1
Gabe Poling won 8-1
Johnson Young won 8-0
Jeremiah Applebury won 8-0.
In doubles matches:
Reeter and Dietz won 8-1
Young and Peterson won 8-1
Applebury and Poling won 8-1.
Coach Aaron Douglas commented: "This is a historic
season for our hornets. Although CHS tennis has achieved some
undefeated regular seasons before, it has been quite awhile since
this has occurred. Wade continues to shine as the team's superstar,
Grant is coming off a big singles championship at Benton/Savannah
tourney, Chase is a highly skilled doubles player that never ceases
to amaze me, and Gabe Poling is one of the most talented sophomores
in Missouri. Johnson's skills are improving at an astonishing rate,
and Jeremiah's tennis game is simply "all day.""
