As expected the Hornets tennis team chalked up a fairly
easy District semifinal win, beating Maryville 5-0 to advance the
Hornets to the championship. In District tournament, the first team
to five victories is the winner and the match is stopped.
Coach Aaron Douglas stated "It wasn't our usual
overwhelming performance but it was still a really strong showing
from our CHS boys. They deserve all the credit for these continual
blowout victories. These wins are due entirely to their hard work in
practice. Wade possesses hard paced ground strokes, a solid net
game, and few weaknesses. Grant is a smart player and he's the king
of consistency. Chase never gives up and is extremely athletic on
the tennis court. Gabe is shockingly talented for a sophomore.
Johnson continues to take massive leaps of improvement with every
match. And Jerry is simply All Day."
