Lady Hornets Basketball

12/10/2012 CHS 43, Excelsior Springs 28

Chillicothe had a good performance from their guards to down Excelsior Springs on the road 43-28. Both teams suffered from cold shooting but Chillicothe put up more shots and had more free throw attempts to open up a double digit lead in the second quarter.
An Erin Gilliland steal and lay up late in the first quarter sparked a run on points that put Chillicothe up by 9 early in the 2nd quarter. After trading buckets, Chillicothe led by 13 at the half and opened that up to a 22 point lead in the third before Excelsior Springs could get on the scoreboard in the second half. The Lady Tigers managed just seven field goals in the entire first three quarters.
