2015 Homecoming
Queen Margo Young and King Zach Holland |
Chillicothe's Homecoming attendants and candidates were ready
for the post game ceremonies except one was missing. King
Candidate Wagner Chapman finally ran half way across the
football field and waved at Kyle Ross.
No one much cared that Ross was late to the ceremonies.
When you rush for 265 yards, score three touchdowns and a two
point conversion plus make more tackles than most people can
count, you're allowed a little extra time to talk with the
press.
Ross was unstoppable as the Hornets picked up a
decisive 28-7 victory over LeBlond. However, the game was never
as close as the score indicated. The Hornets missed three field
goals in the game, and held LeBlond to negative yards rushing
until the Golden Eagle's final play, a 58 yard touchdown run
with less than 2 minutes left. |
Team defenses
highlighted the first four series, with neither team gaining a
first down. Ross finally broke through with a 17 yard touchdown
late in the 1st quarter. After an hour-plus lightening and
electrical outage delay, Ross broke through again, this time
emerging out of a pile up to sprint 82 yards down the center of
the field for a score.
LeBlond could never get a consistent offensive
presence going on the field. QB Sam Schanze completed just four
of 17 passes for 28 yards and the team only gained three first downs
the entire night. Penalties were also a problem, especially the
15 yard variety. At one point LeBlond drew back to back 15 yard
penalties, and in the second half had one player ejected from
the game.
