Lady Hornets Soccer

     The Lady Hornets soccer team ran there win streak to three games with a 2-0 victory over St. Paul Lutheran of Concordia on Thursday night.
    Chillicothe controlled the ball for a majority of the game and out shot the Saints 26 to 4. The Hornets first goal came 24 minutes into the first half. Freshman Sarah Graves weaved her way through the St. Paul defense and sent a pass senior forward Josefin Hjelmaeng who cut past the sweeper and beat the goalkeeper with a low 10 yard shot.
     In the second half, the two players reversed roles. This time Hjelmaeng laid a great pass off to Graves who hit a 25 yard rocket into the top of the St. Paul net.
     Although shut out of the scoring column, forwards Harlie Jones and Maggie Pfaff both had impressive games by sending a combined 15 shots at the St. Paul goal.
     Midfielders Morgan Grable, Mykel Heese and Graves controlled the offensive possession and the defense of all freshman Devin Dowell, Sydnie Baxter, Kennedie Kieffer and Kaylee Lewis were solid in helping Jaylene Sturguess to record her second shutout in as many games.
