Kate Lindley/Meredith Brick: Lost to Elizabeth Hoffman/Bobbie Lovell of Trenton 3-8, beat Kate Flynn/Julie Middleton of Kirksville 8-2, playing Moberly/Wiersma of Kirksville in the consolation semifinals when play was halted due to rain.

Midland Empire Conference Singles and Doubles Tournament

     Chillicothe's #1 singles player Ellyn Turner swept through the competition to win the Midland Empire Conference singles title. Turner received a first round bye, beat Patience Mozee of Lafayette in the quarterfinals, beat Amanda Capps of Savannah in the semifinals then beat Emily Funk of Cameron for the title. Mollie Marcolla beat Joselyn Brachers of Lafayette in the first round, lost to Hilary Chilcote-Crawford of Benton in the 2nd round, beat Jill Lawyer of Maryville in the consolation quarterfinals, beat Kristin Keeley of Savannah in the consolation semifinals then beat Larissa Hoffman of Benton 8-0 for 5th place.
      In doubles competition Jaimie Baker and Lily Pyrtle had a first round bye, beat Pickard/Thompson of Cameron in the quarterfinals, beat Kendall/Constant of Lafayette in the semi-finals then were upset by Mahlandt/McCampbell of Savannah to finish 2nd. Kate Lindley and Meredith Brick beat Comstock/Hall of Lafayette in the first round, lost to Euler/Jobst of Maryville in the 2nd round, beat O'Donnell/Botts of Cameron in the consolation quarterfinals, beat Schurman/Reed of Benton in the semifinals and beat Field/Rosco of Savannah for 5th place.

District Tournament - 1st Place

     Chillicothe has won another District Tennis Championship, finishing with the singles champion and scoring 28.5 points. St Joseph LeBlond was 2nd with 25.5 points, Kearney 3rd and Trenton 4th out of 11 teams.
     Ellyn Turner won the district singles title and qualified for the State Singles Tournament. Turner received a first round bye, beat Stephanie Comstock of Lafayette 6-1, 6-0, beat Julia Faulker of Excelsior Springs 6-0, 6-3, beat Benton's Hilary Chilicote-Crawford 6-1, 6-0 then beat LeBlond's Laine Hegarty 7-6, 6-1 for the Championship.
     Mollie Marcolla beat Clarissa Huffman of Benton 6-3, 6-2, lost to Hegarty of LeBlond 0-6, 0-6, beat Jill Lawyer of Maryville by Injury Default then lost to Mikayla Gatlin of Excelsior Springs 8-6.
     In doubles, top seed Jaimie Baker and Lily Pyrtle had a first round bye, beat Endecott./Shipley of Maryville 6-0, 6-1, beat Kendall./Conant of Lafayette 7-6, 6-0, lost to Moberly/Wiresma of Kearney in the semifinals 1-6, 4-6 then beat Mahlandt/McCampbell of Savannah 9-8 for 3rd.
     Kate Lindley/Meredith Brock had a first round bye, lost to Snider/Heim of Benton 7-6, 6-7, 10-6, beat Hall/Mozee of Lafayette 8-4, beat Tanner/Thomason of Excelsior Springs 9-7, beat Euler/Jobst of Maryville 8-4 then lost to Hoffman/Lovell of Trenton 8-1 to finish 6th.

Kansas City Barstow 6, at Chillicothe 3 - Sectional

    Chillicothe's season came to an end with a 6-3 loss to Kansas City Barstow in Sectional Competition. Two of Chillicothe's wins came when a Barstow player was ill and could not compete.

M.S.H.S.A.A. Singles Championship

     Chillicothe's Ellyn Turner bowed out of the MSHSAA Singles Championship tournament. Turner lost to Amy Barnthouse of Notre Dame de Sion 1-6, 3-6 in the first round, then lost to Emily Smith of John Burroughs 6-7, 1-6 in the consolation bracket.

Post Season Awards

     Chillicothe's Kate Lindley received the Coaches Award at the annual Tennis Banquet. Lindley is a senior and four year letter winner for the Lady Hornets. Chillicothe went 12-4 on the season in dual meets, were undefeated conference champions and won their 3rd straight district title. Chillicothe loses four seniors, but will return five of their top six players.
