From The Chillicothe Yearbook
The football team this year was
handicapped by the influenza epidemic and by the lack of
material. Because of the difficulty in securing a coach, Supt.
Threlkeld consented to aid the team as much as possible.
The team had practiced about two
weeks when the schools were closed on account of the epidemic
in the country. This caused the team to lose much practice.
When school reopened they had only practiced one week until
the first game was scheduled with Excelsior Springs, Nov.
14th.
Coburn Unanimous Choice for Center of All Star Team of
Northwest Mo.
Richmond Coburn was the real star
of the Chillicothe team. He weights 165, is six feet two
inches tall. He is aggressive and makes holes in the line at
will. He was the unanimous choice for center, although Gall of
Cameron gave him a close race. - K.C. Journal.
