The Chillicothe Lady Hornets came up short against Savannah, falling
18-25, 20-25 in a home meet. "Our team played pretty well overall"
stated Chillicothe Coach Karen Jackson. "We had in both games, spots
where Savannah went on a 5 or 6 point run which just killed us. We
dug ourselves too big of a hole to get out of." Jackson says she was
proud the girls didn't quit.

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets came up short against Smithville 9-20,
10-25 on the road. "The first game we started off well and then fell
into a slump where we could not do anything right" commented coach
Karen Jackson. "We played a much better second game. the biggest
problem was our serving. However, the kids continued to play hard
and not quit."

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets downed Kirksville in straight games
25-8, 25-8. "This is Kirksville's first year for Volleyball" stated
Lady Hornets coach Karen Jackson. "We did a great job of passing and
serving tonight. We played a very smart match and made very good
decisions."

games 14-25, 11-25. "LeBlond is a very strong team" said Coach
Karen Jackson. "Even though we got beat tonight, we were much
improved. Our passing was much more consistent and so was our
serving."
Richmond Invitational (Did Not Place)
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets went 0-2-1 in the Richmond
Invitational. Chillicothe split with Carrollton 14-25, 25-11.

believe in ourselves, what happened tonight will continue to happen"
said Lady Hornets coach Karen Jackson. "I am not sure what the
answer is."

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets came up short against Cameron 17-25,
21-25. "I felt we played much better tonight against a very good
Cameron team" commented Chillicothe coach Karen Jackson. "Cameron is
loaded with Seniors and have a very good middle hitter, so I was
pleased with our young kids and how they responded to their big
hitters."

Northland Classic in Smithville
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets won the consolation trophy of the
Northland Classic Tournament at Smithville.

14-25. Bradee Gabel had 5 digs and 4 assists and Ashley Myers had 5
digs, 2 blocks and 2 kills

Lincoln 25-15, 23-25. Bradee Gabel had 10 assists and 2 digs, Devon
Crowe had 5 blocks, Ashley Myers had 4 kills and 3 digs, Samantha
Figg and Kelsie Sewell had 2 kills each and Shannon Baker had 2
digs.

Smithville team 19-25, 14-25. Shannon Baker had 4 digs, Bradee Gabel

Chillicothe 2, North Platte 0 Chillicothe won 25-18, 25-15 over
North Platte for the consolation trophy. Bradee Gabel had 4 digs, 11
assists and 2 kills. Kelsie Sewell had 4 digs, 1 block and 1 kills,
Devon Crowe had 3 kills, Ashley Myers had 6 kills and 2 blocks,
Samantha Figg had 3 kills, Cynda Gear and Shannon Baker had 3 digs

"After a very awful first game, the girls came back strong in the
second game with a win" commented Lady Hornets coach Karen Jackson.
"I was proud of the girls in the third game where they came back
from a five point deficit to win. The girls are starting to gain
confidence in their abilities and hopefully continue to keep
improving."

District Tournament
The Chillicothe Lady Hornets season came to an end with a 2 game
loss to Odessa in the first round of District play in Excelsior
Springs 17-25, 5-25. Chillicothe ends the season 7-17-3 overall and
1-6 in MEC play
Post Season Awards
The Chillicothe Lady Hornet volleyball team received
honors at their annual banquet. The young team finished 7-16-3 on
the season and had just five seniors on the team. The Coaches award
went to Dani Mullen, Most Digs award and Most Kills award both went
to Ashley Myers and the service percentage award went to Bradee
Gabel. The team will return 6 underclassman letter winners next
season.
Named to the All Conference Honorable Mention team were
Bradee Gabel, Ashley Myers and Devon Crowe.
