4/6/10 St Joseph
Benton 10, at Chillicothe 1 |
Weak hitting,
base-running and pitching on a stormy day with strong winds did the
Hornets in against Benton in a non-conference game at Shaffer Park.
Justin VanHoutan had the start and suffered the loss.
"Just didn't have the same "pop" or control that he had when he
pitched against Macon" stated Hornets coach Dave Mapel. Connor
Lindley and Chase Fantazia both pitched in relief for the Hornets.
Maple said his team faired no better offensively.
"We did get runners on base but then mistakes on the base-paths got
three runners picked off. We don't seem to have that baseball
mentality yet".
