Coach Dave Mapel's comments:
"Another hard one to lose. Chase Fantazia threw his
best game of the season. He had good location on his fast ball and
his curve kept the Smithville hitters off balance. He gave up only
four hits. Except for the 3rd inning, the most batters he faced in
an inning was four.
"The lone extra base hit was a 2-out triple that sailed
over the centerfielder's head. An 'excuse me' hit followed and
scored the lone run of the game. Defensively, we played a pretty
good game. We didn't make an error
"We're still
shocked over the fact that our bats have disappeared and we haven't
scored a run in the past four games. We've got to put some hits
together We stranded a lead-off double in the fourth and really
didn't make much noice until the seventh inning, but we couldn't get
runners home."
