Chillicothe 3, Benton 1

The Chillicothe Hornets picked up their first win of the season, beating Benton in St Joseph 3-1. Benton scored first in the 17th minute by Brian Gallo, but Chillicothe answered in the 25th minute when the Benton defenders misplayed the ball. Colton Whiteside turned to shoot and netted his first goal of the season to tie the game.
In the second half, Chillicothe goalkeeper Troy Toadebusch had big saves on goal from Benton's Arturo Cassyleson to give the Hornets a boost in the game. In the 61st minute, Chase Reeter picked up his second goal of the season when he fired a loose ball past the Benton defender. Chillicothe's final goal came when Laine Saunders took a throw in that was headed to goal by Whiteside, but hit the chest of the Cardinal defender, deflecting it into their own goal, counting as Chillicothe's third goal coming in the 66th minute.
Toadebusch had 7 saves on goal while Benton's Gage Budget had 12 saves on goal.
