Smithville scored 12 goals in the first 28 minutes of the game and beat Chillicothe 12-0 in a half of soccer, due to the 10-goal mercy rule. Chillicothe coach Bill Allison stated Smithville is a much more skilled, faster and experienced team that is usually a front runner for the state championship. Chillicothe failed to get a shot on goal in the game.
