8/29/09 Boys Soccer
Fulton 7, at Chillicothe 0

It was a learning experience, but it wasn't a win for the young Chillicothe Hornets Boys Soccer team in their season opener. The Hornets fell to Fulton 7-0 at Danner Park field.
"It was a tough game for the freshman to start with but just like the rest of they team they did not give up and played to the final whistle" stated Hornets coach Bill Allison. Chillicothe's Freshman goalkeeper Troy Toadebush gave up a couple early goals but finished with 21 saves in the game.
"He had a shaky start but then settled in to play a much better game after the first twenty minutes or so. He gained very valuable experience that can only be learned through game time." stated Allison. Fulton had three goals from John Kirby, two from Aaron Hein and one each from Cameron Krull and Nick Seelinger.
On offense, Chillicothe had four shots on goal with two from Jarek Schmidt. Allison said Freshman Chase Reeter had a good game filling a spot in the central part of the midfield along with Grant Peterson who played up top. The "Veterans" Mahonri Reyes played well despite a sore knee, using his size and position to win several balls, according to Allison.
