Chillicothe Invitational - 1st |
Mary Kate Taylor picked up the individual gold medal in the
Chillicothe Cross Country invitational, covering the Simpson Park
course in 20:07. The Chillicothe boys team picked up the team title
with 27 points, Kirksville was 2nd with 45 followed by Lafayette
with 77.
"I couldn't be more proud of everyone's efforts" stated
Hornets coach Tim Riekena. "Mary Kate ran a great race and finished
with a good time. Daniel Riekena (who finished 2nd) went out and
pushed a good pace."
Chillicothe had five of the top ten boys runners and
had the top two JV boys runners. Coach Riekena says this was a meet
that his young and inexperienced team needed. "This meet was a
confidence booster. There are some tough meets ahead."
