Platte County Invitational - 11th |
Chillicothe picked up three varsity and two junior varsity medals
out of a nearly 500 runner field in the Platte County Invitational.
Kansas City Staley won the boys competition with 62 points.
Chillicothe finished 11th out of 15 complete teams with 248
points. Smithville won the girls title with 30 points.
Mary Kate Taylor finished 5th, a good
accomplishment says Coach Tim Riekena. "Although Mary Kate's time
was off her course personal best, she finished strong enough to pass
a girl in the final meter. Getting 5th out of 75 girls is a
tremendous accomplishment."
Riekena was also proud of his boys times. "Most of the
boys improved their time from last year. Thomas Cassity went from
70th place last year to 30th this year and Daniel Riekena's time
improved nearly 20 seconds from last year.
