4/26/10 Girls Soccer
St Joseph LeBlond 3, Chillicothe 2
<Complete Season Scores>

     The Lady Hornets came out today very sluggish, getting beat to every ball, as LeBlond had ten shots on goal in the first 7 to 8 minutes as the Lady Hornets were trying to gather themselves, finding themselves down 1-0 by the 17th minute.  Then between the 20th and 25th minute all tides turned and Chillicothe found themselves on the attacking side.  By the end on the half were ahead 2-1, on goals by Rochelle Gillilan in the 33rd minute on an assist by goalkeeper Meredith Brick and the in the 36th minute on a goal by Madeline Brick., even though Chillicothe had been out-shot 20 to 8, managed to take the lead.

      The second half saw Chillicothe not being able to manage the ball in midfield, allowing LeBlond to constantly attack the goal with the defense and goalkeeper struggling t knock away the attack on their goal.  By the 56th minute LeBlond had tied the game on a defensive error by the Lady Hornets allowing an easy goal to get by the keeper.  It was pretty much a struggle for either team to attack the goal for the next several minutes, but LeBlond having more of the chances.  In the 78th minute, LeBlond played a ball through and before Meredith Brick could pick it up, LeBlond toe poked it past her with less than 2 minutes left to take the lead and eventual win at 3-2.  It was heart breaking to see the lead slip away and the chance for a win in the second half, especially with virtually no time left to come back.

     Chillicothes keeper Meredith Brick played a very good game and kept Chillicothe in much of it and was hard to see the winning goal scored that way.  LeBlond out shot the Lady Hornets 33-10, so that shows the impact that Meredith had on the team.

      Chillicothe is struggling to manage the ball at midfield and with the forwards gelling and making things happen on the offensive side.  Chillicothe must realize that all 11 have to be on the same page and as it was expressed at halftime 11 equals 1, they must be 1 unit.  Bright side is the overall hustle of Catherine Tipton and the improved play of Echo Followwill over the last couple games.
