Lady Hornets Ace Sarah Baldwin threw a
one hitter to help the Lady Hornets hand Trenton their first loss of
the season, 2-0. Chillicothe scored twice in the 6th inning then
hung on for the win. Baldwin struck out ten and walked just one in
the game. Utley of Trenton also pitched stroke, allowing two earned
runs off five hits with two walks and six strike outs. Baldwin and
Annie Turbyfill both had RBIs for Chillicothe.
Chillicothe's game with Lafayette on Oct. 6th was
cancelled due to a scheduling problem by Lafayette. The Lady Hornets
open district play against Cameron on October 8th at Heritage park
in St Joseph at 5:30pm.
