Chillicothe Sophomore Sarah Baldwin smashed a home run in the first inning then took over on the mound to help Chillicothe down Benton 5-0 for the lady Hornets fifth straight district title and sixth in seven years. Baldwin allowed just one hit, two walks and 17 strike outs in the seven-inning victory. Chillicothe will travel to Platte County on Wednesday for a sectional contest. Chillicothe is 22-5 on the season.
