Macon pulled away from Chillicothe in the final 2:30 of the
ball game thanks to free throws, steals and fouls. Chillicothe
led for the last half of the third and much of the fourth
quarter but Macon stepped up their game in the final minutes
to pull out the win in a wild and fast paced fourth quarter.
Macon used a full court press much of the game to
keep the Hornets out of the offensive flow of the game. The
tigers used a total of 13 players in the game to keep fresh
legs on the floor.
Alex Thompson led Chillicothe with 19 points in three
quarters, after not playing at all in the first quarter. Blake
Stephens had 10 points before fouling out in the fourth
quarter. Trevor Reger also had 10 points for the Hornets.
Macon, who graduated all five starters from last year,
was led by point guard Jakob Linear with 22 points, including
13 in the fourth quarter. |
