Maryville used solid basketball and timely outside shooting to
beat Chillicothe 53-40 at Maryville. The Spoofhounds led by
just three points at halftime but a strong third quarter gave
them a 17 point lead after three quarters.
Chillicothe narrowed the gap to 12 points in the fourth
but could not get any closer. Maryville hit five treys
in the game while Chillicothe could manage just one trey in
the game.
Alex Thompson led Chillicothe with 17 points, but with
the absence of Blake Stephens due to injury, the Hornets
continue to struggle to find a second and third scoring
threat. After Thompson's points, no other player had more than
four points for Chillicothe.
The Hornets will host LeBlond on Thursday and host
Kirksville on Friday
