Zach
Douglas's free throw with 51 seconds left proved to be the
winning point in Chillicothe's 52-51 double overtime win over
Excelsior Springs to win 5th place in the Cameron Tournament.
Excelsior Springs hit a shot in the final seconds of
regulation to send it to overtime. The Hornets Darien Lame
sunk a short jumper with 6 seconds left to send it to double
overtime.
Chillicothe's Jacob McKiddy hit two free throws with
1:21 left to tie the game then Douglas hit one of two for the
one point lead with 54 seconds left.
Excelsior Springs fired a shot from the left wing by
leading scorer Logan Butler with 2 seconds left. The shot hit
the back of the iron and into the Hornets hands. The Tigers
then knocked the ball out of bounds with less than a second
left. Chillicothe simply in-bounded the ball for their four
win of the season. |
