Cameron needed good free throw shooting to pick up a hard
fought 46-38 win over Chillicothe in the Hornet's senior
night.
After a 2-2 tie early in the game, Cameron led the rest
of the way but never by more than 12 points. Chillicothe
closed the gap to 5 points midway through the fourth quarter,
but missed treys on two straight trips down the court and
could not get any closer. Cameron had to go 7 of10 at the free
throw line in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.
Chillicothe held 6'7" Drew Hatten to just four
points in the first half and 13 on the night, plus held 6'4"
Trace Naylor to just 6 points for the game. The two combined
for 39 points against Chillicothe earlier in the year.
Hornets Senior Blake Stephens, who has been
injured since the Christmas Break with a mouth injury, made an
"honorary" start for Senior Night. Stephens dressed out and
was on the court for the opening tip off. Immediately after
the tip was under control, the officials took an injury time
out to allow Stephens to come off the floor to a round of
applause. |
