District Tournament at St Joseph Benton
<Complete Season Scores>

(Story by Coach Shannon Grable)
Chillicothe --- 0
Lafayette --- 2
Season record: 8-12 overall, 3-4 MEC
     The Hornets definitely came to play as the game was fast paced and back and forth the entire match. Both teams getting scoring opportunities early in the match, but the defenses were able to hold for a 0-0 tie at the half.
     The second half started out like the first with many contested balls and scoring opportunities. However, Lafayette was able to break free 14 minutes into the second half to make the score 1-0. It would stay that way for most of the second half. The Hornets would continue to pressure the Irish defense but just miss on scoring opportunities and couldn’t convert on a few corner kicks as well. Laine Saunders had a few nice free kicks that just missed the mark and Brice Griffin made great runs into the box, but just could not find the back of the net.
      With about 8 minutes remaining Lafayette was able to get final goal as the Hornets were pressing forward for an equalizer.
     The loss finishes the season for the Hornets at 8-12. This is a record for wins in a season for the team and something they should be proud of. I know I am extremely proud of every person on this team for the development they have shown from day 1. We set goals for ourselves on the first day. We were able to meet lots of them and we continue to strive to reach others. The seniors on this team should have pride knowing they started a program at Chillicothe High School. This team, town and school will always remember the hard work they put in to get it started. Thank you guys for all that you have done.
     The end of season banquet will be held at 6 pm on November 8th at Cornerstone Church.
