The Lady Hornets soccer team fought a tough battle over at Danner park yesterday, but lost 2-1 to Lafayette. The Fighting Irish struck first in the 13th minute of play as Ashley Hinkle got a ball past Hornet keeper Crysten Lollar. Chillicothe would answer back with the equalizer in the 31st minute as Lacey Nibarger scored knotting it at one heading into intermission. In the
second half, the Lady Hornets played hard, but just couldn’t get anything past goalkeeper Myia Westonthe to put the game away. Lafayette’s Hunter Ziph would end up scoring the winning goal in the 57th minute to improve their season record to 7-12 and 2-5 in the MEC. Chillicothe moves to 4-14 and will be on the road this afternoon with a 4:30 game in Maryville.
