combined sharp pitching and improved hitting to beat St Joseph
Lafayette 6-0 in the Midland Empire Conference season opener.
Chillicothe's Sarah Baldwin allowed just one hit, no walks and had
17 strike outs over her 7 innings of work. Coach Stan Baldwin says
they missed a perfect game because of 7th inning errors.
The Lady Hornets scattered 6 runs off of 8 hits in the
game. The Lady Hornets benefited from five walks and three Lafayette
errors.
"We had timely hitting," stated Coach Baldwin, "but we
are not hitting like we can." Baldwin also said his team's base
running needs improvement.
