Chillicothe
exploded for 40 points in the second half and beat Excelsior Springs
for the third time this year, winning 58 to 30 in the Cameron
Tournament consolation semi-final game.
The Excelsior Springs Tigers led 9 to 5 after the first
quarter, but were held scoreless in the second and trailed 18-9 at
the half. The Tigers battled back to a five point game in the third
but a quick seven point Chillicothe run gave the Hornets a double
digit lead for the rest of the game.
The Hornets were with out starting point guard
Nic Voorhies who was out due to illness. Chillicothe saw several
players step up in the game including Jacob McKiddy with 22 points
and Jake Mathew's 13 points.
The Hornets get a re-match with LeBlond in the
Consolation game on Friday at 4:30pm.
