The Chillicothe Boys Tennis team finished fourth out of eight teams in cumulative points in the Excelsior Springs Tournament.
     In team play, Chillicothe beat Fort Osage 3 to 2: Wade Dietz won 8 to 1, Derek Montgomery won 8 to 1, Grant Peterson and Chase Reeter lost 8 to 9, Gabe Poling and Jeremiah Applebury won 8 to 0 and Garrett Peterson and Justin Lightner lost 4 to 8.
     Chillicothe then beat William Chrisman 3 to 2: Dietz lost 5 to 8, Montgomery lost 3 to 8, Peterson and Reeter won 8 to 5, Poling and Applebury won 8 to 0 and Peterson and Lightner won 8 to 1
     Chillicothe lost to Excelsior Springs 5 to 0: Dietz lost 5 to 8, Montgomery lost 1 to 8, Peterson and Reeter lost 2 to 8, Poling and Applebury lost 2 to 8 and Peterson and Lightner lost 0 to 8
     The players then played for individual honors. Dietz beat a Kearney player 9 to 7 for 5th, Montgomery lost to a Belton player 5 to 8 to finish 6th, Peterson and Reeter beat a Belton team 8 to 4 to finish 5th, Poling and Applebury lost to a Kearney team 8 to 9 to take 4th and Peterson and Lightner beat a Benton team 8 to 2 for 5th place.
