#1 singles player Wade Dietz chalked up another impressive win to set the tone for the Hornet tennis team in a 6-3 win over Savannah. Coach Aaron Douglas said that "Wade is playing at a level of tennis that Chillicothe has not seen in a while". Dietz downed the Savannah #1 player 10 - 6, Grant Peterson won 10-4, Phillip Reeter won 10-7, Gabe Poling lost 7-10, Derek Montgomery won 10-7 and Jeremiah Applebury won 10-8.
     In doubles play, Peterson/Reeter lost 6-8, Dietz/Poling won 8-5 and Montgomery/Applebury lost 6-8. Douglas said his team was the underdog in this match, but his team stepped up and "sent Savannah home in shambles."
