The Chillicothe Lady Hornets softball
team banged out 11 hits and turned 10 of them into runs to beat
Cameron 10-1 at Cameron. The Lady Hornets jumped on top early,
scoring 2 runs in the top of the first and another 3 in the 3rd.
Cameron scored in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-1 but
Chillicothe answered with 5 runs in the 5th to blow open the game.
Ace pitcher Sarah Baldwin went the 7 innings for the
win, allowing one un-earned run off four hits with one walk and 16
strike outs. She helped her cause at the plate, going 2 for 4 with 3
RBI’s and a run scored. Maura Sturguess had 2 hits and 2 RBIs,
Carley Anderson had 2 hits, Erin Gilliland had 1 hit and 2 RBIs
while Annie Turbyfill had a hit and an RBI, and Brooke Doss had a
hit and two walks. Lauren Jones had two stolen bases and Anderson
had one.
