Hornets Golf
5/6/13 Boys Golf Banquet
<Complete Season Scores>

     A young but improving Chillicothe boys golf team was honored at the annual banquet. Veteran coach Vicki Garrett had 9 golfers to work with and 7 of the nine were first year golfers. Garrett stated most golfers get to spend their first year or two on the JV team learning the game, but several of Chillicothe’s 1st year golfers had the experience of playing varsity, something Coach Garrett stated was “A huge challenge for even the experienced golfers”. Garrett also stated a lack of practice time early in the season due to weather further hampered her team.
     The highlight of the season was the play of #1 Austin Martin, who earned All Conference Honors by shooting an 86 in the MEC tournament. Martin received the Roger Cranmer Outstanding Golfer Award, which is presented to the athlete with the lowest season average. The award is sponsored by the family of the Late Roger Cranmer who was an avid golfer and supporter of the CHS golf program.
