     For one half of basketball, the Lady Hornets had state ranked Trenton Lady Bulldogs against the ropes. Unfortunately, the game lasts two halves and Trenton outscored Chillicothe 37-18 in the second half to pick up their 14th win on the season.
     Chillicothe started the game firing on all cylinders, starting the game on a 5-0 run. Madison Williams had two treys and 9 of the team's 13 points in the first quarter. Chillicothe held on to lead by 7 at the half, despite that Chillicothe's leading scorer Maggie Graves being held to just four first half points thanks to strong Trenton inside defense and two early fouls whistled against Graves.
     The Lady Hornets scored the first bucket of the 3rd quarter to lead by nine, but back to back treys by Trenton's Cassidy Cotton and Megan Sole made it a 1 three point game. A deuce made it a one point lead then another Trenton trey gave them a 2 point lead. Chillicothe tied the game up shortly after that, but another 9-0 run gave Trenton the lead for good, by as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter.
     Chillicothe had 39 of their 41 points scored by three players: Madison Williams with 17 points, Erin Gilliland with 12 and Graves with 10. Mackenzie Barnett had the other two points. The other four players accounted for just four shots and no points.
