Lady Hornets Head Coach Ed Douglas says: "The Hornets turned a long night in St Joseph into a very successful night with dual match wins over LeBlond 9-0 and Benton 6-2 (make up from last weeks rainout) to wrap up no worse than a tie for the MEC Conference Championship. The Hornets are 5-0 in the Conference with only a match against Cameron who they already beat early in the year very convincingly.
"This also means a repeat as MEC Champs since the Hornets won the championship last year too. The Hornets matches didn't end until about 8:15 last night and everyone arrived home at 10 but it was a very worthwhile night. Sydnie and Ali dominated in singles and doubles as always. Kelly Westphal played especially well and so did Chelsea Long.
"Jozie Reeter won against LeBlond and lost a very close 9-8 (9-7) match against Benton and won both doubles. Therese Taylor won against LeBlond in both singles and doubles. The Hornets are now 8-1 in duals and 10-2 in team competition."
