Lady Hornets Head
Coach Ed Douglas says: "The Hornets finished out their
MEC Conference undefeated season with a 9-0 victory over
Cameron Monday at Cameron to go to 6-0 in MEC Conference
play. This is a repeat Championship for the Lady Hornets who
won the MEC last year also.
"#4 Player Chelsie Long wasn't able to make the trip
because of illness but the Hornets didn't miss a beat. Candace
Callahan filled in at the varsity spot and won both her
singles and doubles. Kelly Westphal had the toughest match of
the day. She was down 4-2 40 love before rattling of 6
straight games. "It was a very good come back for Kelly. Kelly
didn't start off with her A game today. Some days are like
that. But she figured out a way to win anyway. This makes the
Lady Hornets 10-1 for the year in duals and 12-2 in team
competition." |
