Chillicothe Senior Kelsey Boley launched a shot
over dead center field but it wasn't enough as the Lady Hornets
softball team lost at home to Lawson 3-1. Boley's homer came in the
4th inning to give Chillicothe a 1-0 lead, but Lawson countered with
a two run double in the top of the sixth then scored an insurance
run on an error in the top of the seventh.
Boley took the loss in the circle, allowing 3 runs, 2
earned, off four hits with five walks but no strike outs. At the
plate in addition to Boley's home run, Lauren Jones went 2 for 4,
Brooke Nelson and Jaylene Sturguess both had hits and Nelson and
Margo Young both had walks. Coach Stan Baldwin says the Lady Hornets
played good defense but could not string their hits together.
