The Chillicothe Girls Softball team had
plenty of offense and strong pitching to down Savannah 8-2 in a home
conference game. Savannah led 2-1 after two innings but Chillicothe
scored twice in the 3rd, once in the 4th and four runs in the 5th
for the win, picking up runs off 11 hits.
Kelsey Boley had a strong game in the circle to
pick up the win, allowing two runs, one earned, off three hits with
three walks and seven strike outs. At the plate, she went 3 for 3
with 4 RBIs and a run scored. Keely Eckert had two hits and two runs
scored, Lauren Jones,, Sam Baldwin, Jaylene Sturguess, Brooke
Nelson, Mallory Gaston and Lillian Stover all had a hit.
Coach Stan Baldwin said his team played their best game
of the year so far with great pitching, hitting and awesome defense.
