The Chillicothe
Softball team started strong but ran into trouble, losing at home to
St Joseph Benton 14 to 3. Samantha Baldwin opened the game in the
bottom of the first inning with a two run shot over dead center
field for a 2 to 0 lead. That would last just two innings when
Benton scored three in the third, one in the fourth, and five in the
fifth to lead 8 to 2. Chillicothe loaded the bases in the bottom of
the 5th but could only score one, when a bases loaded walk drove in
the runner and make the score 8 to 3. Benton tacked on two more runs
in the 6th and four in the 7th for the lopsided win.
