Story by Coach Bob Long
The Chillicothe Lady Hornet Golf team (6-2) traveled to
Lawson and played a nine hole triangular with the Smithville
Warriors and Lawson Cardinals at Hidden Valley Golf Course.
Smithville won the event with a score of 170, followed by
Chillicothe with a 196 and Lawson's 203.
Abby Harmeyer
of Smithville was the medalist with a round of 39. Hannah Leamer of
Chillicothe placed third with a score of 44. After a tight opening
hole, Hannah played the following six holes at three over par.
Hannah's consistent play continues along with her perfect attitude.
She doesn't get flustered and plays with confidence.
Grace Venner
played her best round of the season, 46. Grace has gradually
improved all season and this was her breakout round. Grace pared
two of the holes and didn't have any scores of seven or higher.
Morgan Dowell
entered a score of 50. Morgan had a good round, and was close to a
great round, but had a tough next to the last hole. She hit the ball
precisely the entire round.
Kaylee Thieme
played to a score of 56. Kaylee had several good holes and is
working hard to bring her game around for district play. Lauren
Mason completed the Hornet team with a round of 59.
This was good preparation for Monday's district
competition. Hannah Leamer continues to play outstanding golf. Grace
Venner's improvement is fun to witness. She has always had a great
short game and her scores show it. Morgan Dowell is hitting the ball
extremely well, if she avoids the tough holes, her score will drop
significantly. The Lady Hornets will host district competition on
Monday. |
